Sam Sundberg, LICSW
Hi there! I’m Sam, and I’m glad you’re here. I’m Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Washington and a queer, trauma-focused therapist who loves to create a warm and affirming space for folks to feel seen and heard.
My practice is grounded in creating safety within the therapeutic space that is both trauma-informed and intentional. Being mindful of the many oppressive systems impacting our lives, I care deeply about bringing those into awareness while you navigate both healing and change.
I work with adults (18+) providing LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming mental health therapy focusing on anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, life transitions, family of origin, relationships, body neutrality, and neurodivergence. I have extensive experience working in community mental health, as well as private practice settings. Drawing on different modalities including Internal Family Systems, Somatics, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I hope to support folks in creating both softer and stronger relationships to themselves and in feeling closer to self liberation and self compassion.
Therapy is a super vulnerable experience! My hope is to make the it warm and affirming.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I love spending time and being in community with my friends, shopping for unnecessary knick knacks for my home, obsessing over new podcasts, and yes, watching tik toks.
